2026-2027 Board of Regents Chair-elect, Chair, and ACP President
At its November meeting, the Board of Regents will elect its 2026-2027 Chair-elect. Charles J. Hamori, MD, FACP, current Chair-elect of the Board of Regents, and Jan K. Carney, MD, MACP, President-elect, will assume office as Chair of the Board of Regents and President, respectively, at the conclusion of the Annual Business Meeting and Town Hall to be held at Internal Medicine Meeting 2026.
2026-2027 Board of Governors Chair and Chair-elect
Colleen Christmas, MD, FACP, will take office as Chair of the Board of Governors in April 2026.
Marion M. McCrary, MD, FACP, has been elected Chair-elect for the Board of Governors. Dr. McCrary will take office as Chair-elect at the conclusion of Internal Medicine Meeting 2026 and will take office as Chair in April 2027.
Dr. McCrary is Governor for ACP's North Carolina Chapter. She has been an FACP since 2014. Dr. McCrary has been active at the local level as a member of her chapter's Governor's Council, as a Well-being Champion, and as co-creator and leader of the Virtual Doctor's Lounge. She has also been invited faculty for scientific sessions at ACP chapters domestically and internationally. Under her leadership, the chapter received the Chapter Excellence Award in 2023 (Bronze Tier), 2024 (Gold Tier), and 2025 (Gold Tier).
On the national level, Dr. McCrary currently serves as a member of the Chapters Subcommittee, faculty for the Peer Coach Training Program, and coach and content creator for the Well-being Champion Program. Recently, she served as Vice-chair of the Clinical Skills Committee, a Global Ambassador, class representative on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors, and a member of the Reference Committee for the Spring 2025 Board of Governors meeting. Additionally, Dr. McCrary served as an ACP expert representative for the American College of Radiology's review panel on appropriate use criteria for diagnostic breast and gastrointestinal imaging.
Dr. McCrary received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine. Dr. McCrary is an internal medicine physician at Duke Signature Care and an assistant professor at Duke University in Durham.
